About Us
The reformist Dawoodi Bohras are a group of followers of the Dawoodi Bohra sect of Shia Islam who advocate for greater transparency, accountability, and gender equality within their community. We are also known as Progressive Dawoodi Bohras or Dawoodi Bohra Reformists.

The Dawoodi Bohra community is primarily based in India. They have a hierarchical leadership structure headed by the Syedna, who is considered the spiritual leader and guide of the community.
However, the reformist Dawoodi Bohras believe that the Syedna and the community’s administration should be more transparent and accountable to the community’s members.
The Dawoodi Bohra Welfare Society in the UK is part of a global reform movement. Our cause is to challenge the authoritarian and un-Islamic system the current Bohra priesthood has put in place to control and fleece the mainstream Dawoodi Bohra community.
The Bohras, as descendants of the Fatimids are supposed to be forward thinking, curious and inquisitive. These traits allow an increase in knowledge both in spiritual and worldly affairs and makes us Muslims that generations can be proud of.
